Reality of knowledge and practice in skin care’s infection control and some factors related to skin care centers in Can Tho city, 2015

ABSTRACT

Reality of skin care employees’ knowledge and practice at skin care centers plays an important role in infection control, environmental protection and complication preventing for customers when using services.

Objective: Describe the reality and identify some factors related to the knowledge and practice in infection control at skin care centers in Can Tho city, in 2015.

Method: Cross- sectional descriptive study

Result:The knowledge in infection control: the employees gaining the correct knowledge account for 65.8%: including 79.4% skin infection, 70.6% hand hygiene, 11.0% instrument sterilization and 46.1% infectious waste management. The practice in infection control has a very low rate: 3.5% handwashing, 1.0% instrument sterilization and 13.9% infectious waste management.

Conclusion: The reality still has many limitations, which is one of risk factors causing complication for those who use these sevices.
