ABSTRACT
To serve women’s beauty needs, many beauty services are increasingly released and developed everywhere including Dong Thap Province. Those services include: beauty salons, skin care centers, especially hairdressers are located in many places from city to countryside. In those beauty services, most of employees are trained without teaching formally by professionals, while impacts on skin can affect directly to people’s health.
Objective: Describe the reality and identify factors related to beauty services in Dong Thap Province, in 2015
Method: Described cross
Result: Total 391 studied places: 39.6% with license and 60.4% without license. 37.4% with registration in People’s Committee of District, 2.1% with registration in Planning and Investment Department. The main activities of beauty services are hairdressing 73.4% and facial massage 14.4%. The following activities are selling cosmetics 57.0% and providing mixed cream 6.9%.
Conclusion: Percentage of practice without license is 60.4%. Licensing authority still has many limitations. The following activities in beauty sevices are selling cosmetics (57%) and providing mixed cream (6.9%). This shows that many issues need to be solved in the practice management of skin care services in Dong Thap
